More thoughts on Feedburner Feeds
I came across several posts recently discussing the use of Feedburner feeds. The first, written in January 2005, encouraged Feedburner to find a solution for those who wanted to keep their feed on their own server. Another post commends Feedburner for having found a solution for those who wish to leave Feedburner in the future and retain their subscriber traffic.
I am doubtful whether this is an ultimate solution. It seems the whole “redirect” solution, whether, redirecting from my site to theirs, or theirs to mine, is inadequate and prone to error. Advanced webmasters can take advantage of this method. However, it is the beginning webmaster or the non-technical blogger that is handicapped by this method.
The best solution to feed statistics is STILL a server side application or a WordPress plugin.
