I am currently working on three new series that I hope to be posting concurrently.  My ultimate goal is to turn one of these series into an ebook.  I thought it would best for my own practice as well as for my readers that I do this transparently.  It will help with my own accountability as well as provided a benefit to my reader.

The series’:

  1. Google Analytics:  There is a lot of helpful resources regarding Google Analytics but like most help, it is not written towards a goal.  This series will be written with this goal in mind: “How to setup and manage a web analytics program for your website”.  While setting up a web analytics program can be accomplished with any tool, I will use GA because it is free and most website owners probably have a GA account.  As always, I will focus on things from a beginners perspective.  With my goal in mind, I want the series to enable readers to take their analytics to the next level beyond pretty graphs and numbers to data they can understand and use.
  2. Overview of SEO using Raven Tools:  The toolset needed to accomplish excellent SEO results is quite broad.  There were many was to tackle such a topic and frankly, it is quite overwhelming.  I decided I could write about SEO from within the context of Raven Tools for a number of reasons. First, One place, one suite of tools.  Readers won’t be scrambling from tool to tool and I won’t be pressed harder to try and explain how the various pieces fit together.  Second, Raven Tools is an SEO tool suite that is accessible to beginners.  There are a lot of good SEO tools available, however, many are priced out of reach for the beginner.  I will be using this very site to perform SEO analysis.  You will get to see the good, the bad and the ugly of my site and hopefully learn a few things along the way.
  3. Pagelines PlatformPro – PlatformPro is a premium WordPress Theme framework.  I have redesigned three websites so far with PlatformPro, RWT being one of them.  This series will take about all the various pieces parts of PlatformPro and how to customize it.  Just so other premium theme companies don’t get upset, I am working with other frameworks as well, it is just that my knowledge of PlatformPro has taken off in the last few months and is still fresh in my mind!

So please stay tuned in the coming weeks.  There is a lot going  on and a lot to learn!
