Changes at Pingomatic
As I mentioned in the previous post, pingomatic had some overload issues at the beginning of this year. Performance was getting spotty. Well, as of one week ago, they have new hardware and should see more stable and consistent performance. I have switched back to pingomatic and see how things go.
WordPress users automatically use pingomatic as the default ping service.

Hi Paul
Pingomatic has had further problems as I am sure you noticed recently. Unfortunately for them, these will continue to happen as long as they offer the RPC service and spam blogs are so popular. Actually just the growth of blogs in general will probably make these outage problems with pingomatic continue to arise.
Over at pingoat we won’t have these problems.
I also invite you to take a look at our latest ping site http://www.ipings.com which pings faster than pingoat even and has some nice rss features such as an rss reader and a news aggregator.
