Using Grouper RSS Feed Generator
Grouper generates RSS feeds. It is able to talk to a variety of web sites and gather the recent news from those sites into a feed. This feed can then be used within an RSS Reader or can be displayed on a website using a tool such as CaRP.
Grouper is available in a free or a paid version. The paid version is called Grouper Evolution ($13).
The Free version is able to cull data from Google News and Yahoo News. Grouper Evolution adds Daypop, Feedster, other XML based feeds (ie can convert Atom based feeds to RSS based feeds), Blogspot, and other blogs in general.
There is documentation available for Grouper. However, the examples are scant. I will be posting more detailed help and examples for Grouper to this blog. Stay tuned to the Grouper RSS Help category for the latest posts.
The combination of Grouper and CaRP can add a lot of power to a website. The learning curve for Grouper is a tad steep only because the main documentation lacks crucial examples. Hence, the reason for this series of posts: make Grouper documention user friendly even for the beginner.
