Google Adsense Referrals

Last week Google introduced Google Adense Referrals. Refer a user from your web site to Google Adsense and potentially reap some reward. If the user signs up and begins using Adsense and eventually earns $100, you as the referrer will earn $100 as well (your Adsense account gets credited $100 actually)! I am not going to say that you could earn big bucks with this affiliate program. However, consider it an opportunity, do with it as you will.

Adsense Chat

Adsense Chat is a forum where users discuss their use of Adsense. It is a good place to learn about the basics of Adsense. The best feature is to post your own site in the ‘Critique” section. Other pairs of eyes looking at your site will help you refine your Adsense implementation.

Alternatives to Adsense

This article contains a fairly comprehensive list of alternatives to Google Adsense. It is helpful to know the alternatives. Though there are some problems with Adsense, one must considered the upsides and the downsides. The major upside to Adsense is the number of advertisers. The advertiser universe is quite large with Google. This is a big benefit to Adsense users. It enables more specific content matching. Test out the alternative before making the switch. Things to test for:

1) is the alternative producing quality content matching. Does a a site about fishing display ads for viagra?
2) what is the pay rate per click. On smaller ad networks, this rate is quite small. That benefits the advertiser, but will not benefit the publisher.

It is wise to keep abreast of the alternatives. Competition is a good thing.
